At what time is your body at peak performance?

WASHINGTON – Daylight saving time ends the first weekend in November.

But paying better attention to personal body clocks now can help people reach peak performance today and every day.

Just before waking up in the morning, body temperatures begin to rise. Following that bloom into midday, working memory, alertness and concentration also improve.

Research cited in the Wall Street Journal also finds most people start wilting about midday. Focus and concentration slip between about 12 p.m. and 4 p.m.

Need to think outside the box? That might best be accomplished late in the day. Research shows fatigue allows wandering minds to find creative solutions.
