5 people rescued from Potomac River

WASHINGTON – Five people had to be pulled out of the water tonight in Montgomery County near Tenfoot Island.

Scott Graham, the fire and rescue spokesman for Montgomery County, says four adults and one child went into the Potomac River on inflatable kayaks.

They were taken out by fireboat after it got too dark for them to make it out of the water on their own.

No one was injured.
