App helps police solve string of Bethesda burglaries

WASHINGTON – A string of neighborhood burglaries was solved, thanks to an iPad app, officials say.

Montgomery County police got a call May 9 about a theft in the 5000 block of Keokuk Street in Bethesda.

When officials realized an iPad was among the stolen items, they put the Find My iPad app to work.

This led to the arrest of a 14-year-old boy, who admitted to four other burglaries and two attempted burglaries in the area.

He also admitted to using a stolen bike as a getaway vehicle. He was charging with stealing that, as well.

All the incidents occurred in Bethesda between May 1 and May 10.
