WASHINGTON – Tickets to Sunday’s National Cherry Blossom Festival opening ceremony are sold out. But there is hope for those who want to attend.
Danielle Piacente, spokesperson for the festival, says those without tickets can still come downtown at 4:45 p.m. for the opportunity to gain walk-in tickets.
If reserved ticket holders do not show up for the ceremony, Piacente says, the festival will allow non-ticket holders in.
The even begins at 5 p.m. at the Washington Convention Center Sunday. Doors open at 3:30 p.m.
