FORT WASHINGTON, Md. – Prince George’s County police used pepper spray to break up a crowd and arrested five students after a fight broke out at a high school basketball game.
The fight happened outside of Friendly High School after the game against Crossland High School.
The officers were there working security for the game.
An adult and four juveniles were arrested. Three of the five have been charged with assault.
Police say no students were hit directly by the pepper spray, and two or three officers discharged the pepper spray into the air to disperse the crowd.
Police say two officers were taken to a hospital for their injuries. Both have since been released.
