Arrest made in Md. ice cream truck driver killing

WASHINGTON — The man who is suspected of shooting and killing an ice cream truck driver in Frederick, Maryland, on Saturday has been arrested, police said Sunday morning.

According to reports, Brandon Brown, 22, was killed when he stopped his Big Daddy Ice Cream truck at approximately 5:30 p.m. in the 400 block of Vermont Court in the Frederick’s Lucas Village neighborhood. He got out and was approached by his assailant, who shot him at least once in the chest, police said in a news release.

Frederick police say they arrested Larnell Lyles, 27, early Sunday morning at a residence in the 100 block of Sandalwood Court in Walkersville, Maryland, and charged him with first degree murder.

The investigation is still ongoing.
