Watch: 2nd DC eagle egg hatching soon

WASHINGTON — The second bald eagle egg has started to hatch Thursday, just a day after the first eaglet of the year emerged from its shell.

Mr. President and the First Lady’s second egg of the year could hatch within the next 12 to 48 hours. Its expected hatch-date is March 30.

A “pip” or a small cranny on the second egg was first noticed Thursday around 6:15 a.m. according to Julia Cecere with the American Eagle Foundation.

The egg-hatching is live-streamed on dceaglecam.org.
