Tysons-based Cvent has 1,000 jobs to fill globally

WASHINGTON — Cvent Inc., whose software is used by businesses to organize meetings and events, plans to hire more than 1,000 new employees globally, a 35 percent increase in the size of its current workforce, citing customer growth.

Tysons Corner-based Cvent says it expects about half of those new jobs to be in the Washington region, with others across offices in Austin, Boston, Atlanta, Portland, Dallas, Draper, Utah, Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada, London, Singapore, Melbourne and New Delhi.

Cvent is also opening new offices in Dubai and Germany later this year.

New openings cover a wide range of professions, from information technology to customer support to marketing, Cvent said.

“We are looking to find the best talent with a passion for customer success and for transforming the meetings and events industry,” said Reggie Aggarwal, founder and CEO of Cvent.

Cvent was founded as a small startup in 1999. The company has more than 3,000 employees today.

To accommodate growth at its Tysons office, the company is expanding its Tysons Corner headquarters by an additional 75,000 square feet, bringing its total Tysons space to 200,000 square feet.

Cvent was acquired by private equity firm Vista Equity Partners in late-2016 for $1.65 billion.
