BALTIMORE, Md. —  A pair of bulls were on the run in Baltimore after escaping from a slaughterhouse Friday morning.

The animals ran away from a slaughterhouse on the 2700 block of Pennsylvania Avenue, police officials say.

The bulls ran to a nearby apartment complex, grazing on a patch of grass next to residences. Cars in the parking lot were used to block the only open entrance into the complex.

“They were able to get some fencing over here to fence them in and we had them contained,” Baltimore Police spokesman T.J. Smith told WTOP. “However, the bulls knocked over the fencing a couple of times, so we had to move people back.”

It took several hours to contain the bulls, but they were eventually coerced into a trailer and taken back to the slaughterhouse. Luckily no one was hurt and there wasn’t any property damage.

It has been an odd week for police in Baltimore. Early Monday morning, a driver playing Pokémon Go while behind the wheel drove into the back of a stopped patrol car near Patterson Park.

“Today’s the ‘Running of the Bulls: Baltimore edition.’ Earlier this week, it was ‘Chasing Pokémon: the Driving Edition’,” quipped Smith.
