State Senator Quits Post, Gets Hired By Annapolis Lobbyist — Former District 15 State Sen. Rob Garagiola stepped down earlier this month and he already has a new job. Garagiola will join powerful Annapolis lobbying firm Alexander & Cleaver and manage its new Montgomery County office, according to a press release. Maryland law says former legislators can’t lobby in Annapolis during their first legislative session after their departure. Garagiola, from Germantown, has said he will focus his work on county politics in Rockville. [Washington Post]

MoCo Helps Bring 2nd Annual GreenFest To Silver Spring — In nearby Silver Spring, the county’s Department of Environmental Protection, Fenton Street Market and Silver Spring Green will host the 2nd Annual Silver Spring GreenFest from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 5 at the Silver Spring Civic Building.
