Actor, comedian Robin Williams found dead in Calif. home

WASHINGTON – Actor and comedian Robin Williams was found dead in his home in Tiburon, California.

The Marin County Sheriff’s office, as well as the Tiburon Fire Department and Southern Marin Fire Protection District, arrived at Williams’ home at 12:00 p.m. Aug. 11 after receiving a 911 call that an adult male was unconscious and not breathing. Williams was pronounced dead at 12:02 p.m.

According to the Marin County Sheriff’s office, an investigation into the cause, manner and circumstance of death is underway, but at this time, the Sheriff’s Office Coroner Division suspects the death to be a suicide due to asphyxia.

Williams was last seen alive at his home at approximately 10:00 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 10, where he lives with his wife.

A forensic exam is scheduled for Aug. 12.
