Rocker Nugent’s comments draw Secret Service attention (VIDEO)

WASHINGTON – Ted Nugent used to get attention with his guitar and on-stage antics.

But lately, he’s made headlines with his comments on the presidential campaign.

Nugent has endorsed Republican candidate Mitt Romney and is predicting disaster if President Barack Obama returns to the White House.

“If Barack Obama becomes the president in November again, I will either be dead or in jail by this time next year,” Nugent said in comments at a National Rifle Association convention in St. Louis.

“If you can’t go home and get everybody in your lives to clean house in this vile, evil, America-hating administration, I don’t even know what you’re made out of,” he said.

Romney’s campaign has called for civility after Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz said the GOP hopeful should condemn Nugent’s remarks, The New York Times reports.

The Secret Service also is aware of Nugent’s remarks and is “conducting the appropriate follow-up,” a spokesman tells ABC News.
