Madonna versus Gaga in diva showdown

WASHINGTON – The feud between Madonna and Lady Gaga has jumped to new heights after the “Material Girl” accused the younger singer of being a copycat.

Madge kicked off her tour in Tel Aviv, Israel earlier this week, throwing in a little surprise for fans. She mashed up “Express Yourself” with Gaga’s “Born this Way,” highlighting how similar the two songs are and concluding with a not so subtle message to her competitor: “She’s not me.”

Gaga fired back during a concert in New Zealand, during which she told concertgoers that making music is more important than fighting back.

“It sometimes makes people feel better about themselves to put other people down, or make fun of them, or maybe make mockery of their work,” she said during the show, according to MSNBC.

“And that doesn’t make me feel good at all. That just makes me feel like I’m not a good human being.”

The Chicago Sun-Times reports it heard a rumor that Gaga also called Madonna a “menopausal mom” behind closed doors.

Madonna has been busy in recent days ramping up publicity for her current tour. During a concert in Turkey, the queen of pop flashed her nipple and caused an Internet outrage.

A few days later, the 53-year-old gave the crowd a different kind of show when she showed her rump to an Italian audience during a performance of the 1995 hit “Human Nature.”
