Last year: McLaren's Jenson Button won the season-ending race. Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel finished sixth to win his third season straight season title.
Last week: Vettel won the U.S. Grand Prix in Austin, Texas, to break the single-season record with eight consecutive victories. He has won 12 races this year.
Fast facts: The race ends the 19-event season. ... Vettel wrapped up his fourth season title Oct. 27 in India. The German star needs a victory to match the season mark of 13 set by Michael Schumacher in 2004 and the overall winning streak of nine set by Alberto Ascari in 1952-53. ... Red Bull's Mark Webber is making his final F1 start. The nine-time winner will race for Porsche next year in the world endurance circuit.
