Site: Daytona Beach, Fla.

Schedule: Thursday, practice (Speed, 4-5:30 p.m., 6:30-8 p.m.); Friday, qualifying (Speed, 3-6:30 p.m.); Saturday, race, 7:30 p.m. (6:30-11 p.m.).

Track: Daytona International Speedway (tri-oval, 2.5 miles).

Race distance: 400 miles, 160 laps.

Last year: Tony Stewart raced to the last of his three 2012 victories, charging past Matt Kenseth on the last lap and holding on as the challengers stacked up behind him in a wreck. Stewart has won four of the last eight July races at the track.

Last week: Kenseth won the rain-delayed race at Kentucky Speedway for his series-high fourth victory in his first season with Joe Gibbs Racing.

Fast facts: Jimmie Johnson, the Daytona 500 winner in February, leads the season standings -- 38 points ahead of Carl Edwards. Johnson has three victories this year. Kevin Harvick and Kyle Busch have each won twice. ... Michael Waltrip is driving the No. 55 Toyota. Three of Waltrip's four Cup victories have come at the track. ... David Ragan won at sister track Talladega in May.

Schedule: Thursday, practice (Speed, 2:30-4 p.m., 5:30-6:30 p.m.), Friday, qualifying (ESPN2, 2-4 p.m.), race, 7:30 p.m. (ESPN, 7-10 p.m.).

Track: Daytona International Speedway (tri-oval, 2.5 miles).

Race distance: 250 miles, 100 laps.

Last year: Kurt Busch raced to the second of his two 2012 victories, winning for Phoenix Racing.

Last week: Brad Keselowski won the rain-shortened race at Kentucky Speedway.

Fast facts: Kurt Busch and brother Kyle Busch are racing along with Matt Kenseth and Joey Logano. Kyle Busch has six victories this year to increase his series record to 57. ... Regan Smith leads the standings, eight points ahead of Sam Hornish Jr. Smith won this year at Talladega and Michigan. ... Tony Stewart won the season opener at the track in February, a race marred by a last-lap accident that injured more than 30 fans. Kyle Larson went airborne into the fence, hurling a tire and large pieces of debris into the stands.

POCONO INDYCAR 400

Schedule: Saturday, practice, qualifying; Sunday, race, 12:15 p.m. (ABC, noon-3 p.m.).

Track: Pocono Raceway (triangle, 2.5 miles).

Race distance: 400 miles, 160 laps.

Last year: Inaugural race.

Last race: James Hinchcliffe raced to his third victory of the season, dominating at Iowa Speedway on June 23 for Andretti Autosport's fourth straight win at the track.

Fast facts: The race is the first major open-wheel event at the track since 1989. ... Team Penske's Helio Castroneves leads the season standings, nine points ahead of Andretti Autosport's Ryan Hunter-Reay. Castroneves won this year on the oval at Texas. Hunter-Reay has two victories this season. ... The 40-lap Indy Lights race is Saturday.

GERMAN GRAND PRIX

Site: Nuerburgring, Germany.

Schedule: Friday, practice (NBC Sports, 4:30-6 p.m.); Saturday, practice, qualifying (NBC Sports, 8-9:30 a.m.); Sunday, race, 8 a.m. (NBC Sports, 11 a.m.-2 p.m.).

Track: Nuerburgring (road course, 3.2 miles).

Race distance: 191.9 miles, 60 laps.

Last year: Ferrari's Fernando Alonso won at Hockenheimring for the last of his three 2012 victories. McLaren's Jenson Button was second.

Last week: Mercedes' Nico Rosberg won the British Grand Prix for his second victory of the year. Some drivers had problems with exploding tires, and Sebastian Vettel dropped out with 10 laps remaining because of mechanical issues. Rosberg also won at Monaco in May.

Fast facts: German star Vettel, the three-time defending series champion, leads the standings -- 21 points ahead of Ferrari's Fernando Alonso. Vettel has victories this year in Malaysia, Bahrain and Canada. Alonso won in China and Spain.

Next race: Hungarian Grand Prix, July 28, Hungaroring, Budapest, Hungary.

Last year: Spencer Massey raced to the last of his four 2012 Top Fuel victories, beating Steve Torrence in the final. Mike Neff topped the Funny Car field, Vincent Nobile won in Pro Stock, and Andrew Hines took the Pro Stock Motorcycle event.
