The Asian Tour says organizers of the Chiangmai Golf Classic have postponed the $750,000 tournament in the wake of the military coup in Thailand.

The tournament, scheduled for July 3-6 at the Alpine Golf Resort, is expected to be played later in the year. No date has been finalized.

In a statement released Wednesday by the Asian Tour, Chiangmai organizers say all sponsors have “expressed their full support and continued commitment toward the prestigious tournament.”

Thailand’s military junta has imposed a curfew on most of the country since its May 22 coup.
