Pro golfers take turns with ‘Happy Gilmore’ hacks (Video)

WASHINGTON – “Happy Gilmore” inspired throngs of golf novices to take a running start and swinging hack at a golf ball in hopes of crushing the tiny sphere down the fairway.

It’s good to see pro golfers aren’t immune to the imitation as well.

In a video posted July 12 on YouTube, some of golf’s best take a turn at emulating Adam Sandler’s hockey-golf-baseball swing, with even some lines from the 1996 movie thrown in for good measure.

Deadspin reports Padraig Harrington reportedly blasted the longest shot at 328 yards.

Phil Mickelson, meanwhile, doesn’t fare quite as well.
