Montgomery County Police say the suspect in a Dec. 26 bank robbery in Woodmont Triangle probably is the same man who robbed a bank in Potomac five days earlier.

Police on Thursday released surveillance photos of the suspect from the Dec. 26 incident at the M&T Bank located at 7920 Norfolk Ave. Police were called to the scene at about 4:37 p.m. and promptly set up a perimeter around the area.

Police say the man walked up to a teller and pulled out the note. The suspect said he was armed and obtained an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing, police said.

According to scanner traffic, a dye pack in the bag of cash exploded soon after the suspect left the bank.

Detectives believe the same man robbed the M&T Bank at 10100 River Rd. on Dec. 21. He appears to have worn the same hat in both robberies.

As always, detectives are asking anyone with information about this robbery or the suspect involved to call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477) or leave a Crime Solvers tip here.  Crime Solvers will pay a cash reward of up to $10,000 for information provided to them that leads to an arrest and/or indictment for this felony crime.  Tipsters will remain anonymous.
