Montgomery County Police say the suspect in a Dec. 26 bank robbery in Woodmont Triangle probably is the same man who robbed a bank in Potomac five days earlier.
Police on Thursday released surveillance photos of the suspect from the Dec. 26 incident at the M&T Bank located at 7920 Norfolk Ave. Police were called to the scene at about 4:37 p.m. and promptly set up a perimeter around the area.
Police say the man walked up to a teller and pulled out the note. The suspect said he was armed and obtained an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing, police said.
According to scanner traffic, a dye pack in the bag of cash exploded soon after the suspect left the bank.
Detectives believe the same man robbed the M&T Bank at 10100 River Rd. on Dec. 21. He appears to have worn the same hat in both robberies.
