The Bethesda Arts & Entertainment District, a division of the Bethesda Urban Partnership, announced on Monday that it will host the second annual Bethesda Film Fest over two days next March at Imagination Stage.

Last year’s event was held on a Saturday night and featured five short documentaries with a question-and-answer period. Organizers said the 150-seat theater at Imagination Stage was sold out and a number of people were shut out.

The Film Fest is now accepting entries from filmmakers. Documentaries must be between five and 20 minutes long, completed within the last two years and from a filmmaker from Maryland, D.C. or Virginia.

The selection panel might also take a documentary from a filmmaker younger than 18. Filmmakers selected will get a $250 honorarium.

Filmmakers can apply by mailing a completed application and DVD including the documentary, 5-20 minutes in length, to Bethesda Film Fest c/o Bethesda Urban Partnership, 7700 Old Georgetown Rd., Bethesda, MD 20814. Entries must be received by January 3, 2014.
