City Sports Coming To Pike & Rose

City Sports in Bethesda, on Arlington RoadAdd City Sports to the ever growing list of retailers and restaurants coming to the first phase of the Pike & Rose project in North Bethesda.

Rockville-based developer Federal Realty Investment Trust announced the sporting goods retailer will open a 10,000-square foot store in the development once it opens late next year.

The announcement paired City Sports with the recent news of Sport&Health’s plans for Pike & Rose as an example of building “an active lifestyle community.”

“Our goal from the start with Pike & Rose was to transform this area of Rockville Pike from a hard-scaped, commercial–centric corridor, into a walkable community that offers great entertainment, shopping and dining, along with active parks and lush landscaping where people can truly live, work and play,” Federal Realty Vice President of Leasing Wendy Seher said in a prepared release.

Phase one of the development is now 75 percent leased. It will also include a luxury iPic movie theater, 250-seat music venue operated by Strathmore, a batch of six fast casual and upscale restaurants and an 80,000-square-foot office building.

Boston-based City Sports now has more than 20 stores, all on the east coast, including one in Federal Realty’s Bethesda Row property (7121 Arlington Rd.).
