Ex-student charged with bringing gun to school

ROCKVILLE, Md. (AP) — Rockville City Police have arrested a former high school student they say brought a gun onto school property.

Eighteen-year-old Aaron Anderson of Gaithersburg was charged Thursday with carrying a concealed dangerous weapon, possession of a dangerous weapon on school grounds and other offenses.

Police say Anderson was in Richard Montgomery High School on Wednesday and told staff that he was a former student. Authorities say Anderson was told to leave the school, and he did so without incident.

Authorities say on Thursday, the school’s security team leader saw Anderson on school property during lunch. Police were called and found Anderson on a street near the school. Officers say Anderson had a stolen handgun in a gym bag.
