Baltimore City Community College chooses new prez

BALTIMORE (AP) — A former president of a community-college campus in Michigan has been chosen to lead Baltimore City Community College.

The board of trustees in Baltimore on Thursday named Gordon May as the college’s new president. He will begin work Sept. 2.

May replaces Carolyn Anderson, who served nearly two years as interim president.

May is the former president of the Auburn Hills campus of Oakland Community College in Michigan.

The BCCC Board of Trustees says May was selected from a pool of more than 50 applicants.

Baltimore City Community College serves more than 18,000 students.
