Man pleads guilty to negligent driving in crash

WESTMINSTER, Md. (AP) — A Westminster man has pleaded guilty to negligent driving in a 2-vehicle crash that killed a woman.

Twenty-two-year-old Christopher Trinity Hill entered the plea Monday in Carroll County Circuit Court. He was fined $500.

Police say on Aug. 31, Hill ran a red light on Md. 140 in Westminster and hit a car driven by Beatrice Grant. Grant’s sister, 68-year-old Mary Ann Christopher of the U.S. Virgin Islands, a passenger, was fatally injured.

The Carroll County Times reports (http://bit.ly/1nMnctT) that Hill had been indicted on a charge of vehicular manslaughter, but that indictment was dismissed.
