Driver dies after July crash in Barnesville

BARNESVILLE, Md. (AP) — Montgomery County police say a man who was released after being hospitalized after a car crash in Barnesville died at his home days later.

Officers say 82-year-old William Collins of Boyds was driving north on Peach Tree Road on July 11 when he collided with an SUV trying to cross the road. Collins was taken to a local hospital for treatment, and was released.

Police say Collins died on July 13. The cause of death will be determined following an autopsy.

The driver of the SUV, 65-year-old Floridalma Villianatos of Clarksburg, was not hurt.

The crash is under investigation.
