Machete links suspect in 2 holdups in Maryland

WALDORF, Md. (AP) — Authorities say a man who robbed a convenience store in Greenbelt using a 2-foot-long machete may be the same person who held up a pizza carryout in Charles County days later in May.

Charles County sheriff’s officials released surveillance photos of the man last week and noted similarities in the suspect descriptions. Police say the suspect robbed a 7-Eleven store in Greenbelt on May 10. Two nights later he robbed a Papa John’s in Waldorf.

In both cases, the robber reportedly carried a machete.

Investigators are asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect.
