Amazon.com Inc. says it will offer a textbook rental service for college students, the Puget Sound Business Journal reported.
Students who sign up for Amazon Student, a free membership program for college students with .edu email addresses, can get free two-day shipping for rented textbooks, which cost significantly less than the books cost to buy.
Signing up for Amazon Student is not required, however, anyone can rent the textbooks.
