Nurse with Ebola arrives at NIH in Maryland

WASHINGTON (AP) — A federal health official says a nurse infected with the Ebola virus is stable and resting comfortably at the National Institute of Health, a research hospital in Maryland.

Anthony Fauci (FOW’-chee), director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases at NIH, said the hospital accepted Nina Pham around midnight. He said she was in, quote, “fair” condition, which implies she is experiencing some symptoms. But, Fauci said, she was stable and alert.

Pham was believed to contract the Ebola virus in Dallas while caring for an infected patient.
