SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — An Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent accused of slamming a man’s face into a concrete floor has been indicted in Utah.
Jon Martinson Jr. is accused of violating federal laws and constitutional rights that forbid the use of unreasonable force by law enforcement officers.
ICE is responsible for removing immigrants who are in the country illegally, but the indictment does not detail the man’s immigration status in July 2013, when the incident occurred.
The man is only identified by his initials in the indictment.
The Salt Lake Tribune reports (http://bit.ly/1n4hSWI ) that Martinson is scheduled to be arraigned July 29 in Salt Lake City federal court after the indictment was handed up last month.
