WASHINGTON (AP) — The White House says Michelle Obama will stress education during a keynote speech later this week at the national convention of a leading Hispanic civil rights group.
The first lady is scheduled Thursday to address the League of United Latin American Citizens, or LULAC, during its meeting in New York City.
Mrs. Obama will promote her new initiative to encourage young people to pursue education after high school.
While in New York, the first lady also plans to visit Global Kids Inc., a nonprofit educational organization for global learning and youth development.
She’ll also attend a Democratic fundraiser.
