NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (AP) — State officials are investigating a fatal kayak accident on the Chicahominy River.
Department of Game and Inland Fisheries spokesman Lee Walker identified the victim as 52-year-old James Othel McDonald of Newport News.
Walker tells WAVY-TV (http://bit.ly/10iOqUW ) that duck hunters found McDonald’s body on Saturday afternoon about a mile from his kayak.
Walker says initial reports indicate that the kayak had rolled over.
