CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (AP) — Spectra Energy has put a proposed interstate natural gas pipeline on hold.
The pipeline would have run from Pennsylvania to North Carolina, and would have crossed Maryland, West Virginia and Virginia.
Spectra spokesman Arthur Diestel tells The Daily Progress (http://bit.ly/1uOmX7j ) in an email that the company is suspending development work on the proposed project.
Diestel says the company will continue to evaluate opportunities in the region.
