7th person charged in Lynchburg drive-by death

LYNCHBURG, Va. (AP) — A seventh person faces a murder charge stemming from a fatal drive-by shooting in Lynchburg.

Lynchburg police tell media outlets that 18-year-old Jakiel Rasuan Benson of Lynchburg was arrested Tuesday. Benson is charged with first-degree murder, shooting from an occupied vehicle and shooting into an occupied vehicle. He also faces a firearms charge.

Six other people face the same charges, including three juveniles.

Police say 20-year-old Lawrence Giusto of Lynchburg was shot in the back while sitting in a parked car shortly before 2:30 a.m. Sunday. He died later that day at a local hospital.
