Three Woodbridge men arrested on rape charges

WASHINGTON – Police in Virginia arrested three Woodbridge men on charges of raping four women in separate incidents New Year’s Day.

Fairfax County Police say Joshua T. Franklin, of the 14000 block of Alabama Avenue, faces two charges each of rape and armed robbery.

Police were called to the Extended Stay Hotel, 6800 Metropolitan Center Drive, about 6 p.m. Tuesday for a report that a man was brandishing a gun. Officers tracked down the man, who tried to run from police.

Police say Franklin arranged to meet two women, ages 18 and 25, at the hotel through an “online service.” Franklin is accused of producing a gun, sexually assaulting both women and ordering them to engage in sex acts.

Police are investigating whether the attack is linked to similar cases in other jurisdictions. ‘

Franklin was being held without bail at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center Wednesday.

Also Tuesday, Prince William County Police arrested Damarius Lamarr Stewart, 31, of the 14000 block of Big Crest Lane, and Marquis Rayquais White, 23, of the 3300 block of Bronson Court, on charges of rape, aggravated sexual battery and object sexual penetration.

Police say Stewart and White were invited to the home of the victims on New Year’s Eve in the Marumsco Woods neighborhood. Some time during the night, the men assaulted and raped the women, ages 28 and 24, while they were asleep.

The women contacted police Tuesday morning, police say.

Stewart and White were being held without bail in the Prince William County Adult Detention Center Wednesday.
