Some riders will wait longer for weekend trains

WASHINGTON (AP) — Metro says riders on the orange, silver and green lines will wait longer than normal for trains this weekend.

Metro says beginning Friday at 10 p.m. and continuing through system closing on Sunday, green line trains will operate every 16 minutes and orange and silver line trains will operate every 15 minutes. That’s longer than the usual 12-minute wait time.

On the red line, trains will operate every 15 minutes and more frequently between Grosvenor and NoMa-Gallaudet. Trains between those stations will operate every 8 to 10 minutes between on Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. only.

Metro says trains will operate at regular weekend intervals on the blue and yellow lines.
