WASHINGTON -- A veteran of the war in Afghanistan was told he couldn't sit in an exit row seat because he had a prosthetic leg, according to news reports.
The incident -- which occurred on Memorial Day, according to WJLA -- happened on an Alaska Airlines flight.
Also according to WJLA, a flight attendant threatened to call security and have Arlington resident Adam Popp removed from the plane if he didn't move from the seat.
"He said, 'No, you aren't going to sit there,'" according to Popp's recollection. "I asked what the problem was, he said, 'You are wearing a prosthetic, you can't sit in the exit row.'"
Alaska Airlines has issued an apology for the incident.
