Website crashes during Stewart-O’Reilly debate

WASHINGTON – Many people couldn’t wait for the event dubbed “The Rumble in the Air- Conditioned Auditorium,” the debate Saturday night in George Washington University’s Lisner Auditorium between John Stewart and Bill O’Reilly.

But for those who weren’t physically there, watching the debate has become difficult. The debate’s website has crashed for many people despite the $4.95 pay- per-view cost they incurred to watch it online. Refunds are now being offered to anyone who couldn’t watch the debate live and no longer wish to watch it. The site says refund information will be available “early next week.”

The mock presidential debate was sold out as the two men prepared to go head-to-head for the first time.

When the website crashed, people took to Twitter to both vent about it and follow the #Rumble2012 hashtag for updates from the debate:
