KAOHSIUNG, Taiwan (AP) — KAOHSIUNG, Taiwan (AP) — ASE Technology Holding Co., Ltd. (ASX) on Thursday reported second-quarter earnings of $666.5 million.

On a per-share basis, the Kaohsiung, Taiwan-based company said it had profit of 29 cents.

The integrated circuit maker posted revenue of $6.04 billion in the period.

ASE Technology Hldg shares have risen 93% since the beginning of the year. The stock has nearly tripled in the last 12 months.

(AP) — A man killed eight of his relatives, including four children, as they gathered for Sunday dinner at a home in Billings, Montana, just weeks after his parents forced him to move out, a family member told The Associated Press. Brad Ireland, whose former wife and two children were among the dead, identified the shooter as 44-year-old Alan Smith. Smith's parents, who were also killed, had asked him to move out, but he returned on Sunday and opened fire, Ireland said.
