The 2021 Susan G. Komen DMV Tri-State MORE THAN PINK Walk will be taking place virtually on Sunday September 12.
While the Walk may be virtual, Komen is still a community made up of passionate and committed supporters – survivors, thrivers, co-survivors, family and friends.
Since 1989, the Susan G. Komen DMV Tri-State Walk has raised over $39 million to help fund local community organizations as well as help fund the more than $1B in breast cancer research grants.
We all know the past year has been one filled with extraordinary challenges that continue into this year as well. But breast cancer doesn’t stop during a pandemic and its aftermath and neither does Susan G. Komen. Many women and men with breast cancer are being severely affected during this time, whether it’s loss of a job and therefore health insurance, having to postpone or suspend screenings or treatment, the need is greater than ever.
While we may be going virtual, our mission hasn’t changed. It is still critical to raise funds for research, patient navigation and patient assistance programs for medically underserved women and men in our communities.
