Since 1995 Covenant House Greater Washington has provided young people overcoming homelessness with safe haven, care, and the supportive services needed to achieve housing, job, and economic stability.
This year Covenant House Greater Washington will provide immediate safe housing to over 1,000 young people experiencing homelessness, providing help and hope to over 140 youth and their children every night.
In addition to emergency housing, Covenant House Greater Washington offers transitional housing, an 18-24 month program that provides young people with employment training and opportunities, workforce readiness, education, and life skills.
Our passion is creating solutions for youth that help them achieve economic, job , and housing stability. Last year we were able to increase our housing capacity by 22%, added an innovative Hospitality Institute, a six week course for our young people to obtain the certifications and training needed to obtain employment in hospitality, one of the fastest growing industries in the Greater Washington Region. We also supported 31 youth going off to college.
