WASHINGTON – A recreational vehicle fire along the Inner Loop of the Beltway caused significant delays between River Road and the I-270 Spur around 2:30 p.m. Sunday.
The RV caught fire in the same location as another RV fire that occurred early last month.
All lanes are open and the fire is out but delays are expected to last for several hours.
The Beltway is usually congested between Tysons and Bethesda on Sunday afternoons. Even though the fire is out and lanes have reopened, the fire sent a shock wave through an already crowded corridor.
Below is the general area of the incident.
