Southern Miss visits Marshall after Kinsey’s 27-point game

BOTTOM LINE: Marshall hosts the Southern Miss Golden Eagles after Taevion Kinsey scored 27 points in Marshall’s 81-66 win against the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers.

The Thundering Herd are 10-1 on their home court. Marshall is the Sun Belt leader with 39.2 rebounds per game led by Micah Handlogten averaging 11.2.

The Golden Eagles are 3-1 against Sun Belt opponents. Southern Miss is ninth in the Sun Belt with 23.8 defensive rebounds per game led by Felipe Haase averaging 5.1.

The matchup Thursday is the first meeting of the season between the two teams in conference play.
