Last race: Defending series champion Kyle Busch extended his annual winning streak in NASCAR’s top series to 16 years with a victory Wednesday in the rain-delayed race at Texas, his first victory since he won at Homestead in the final race of 2019 to claim the championship.

Fast facts: Busch joins Richard Petty, David Pearson, Jimmie Johnson, Ricky Rudd and Rusty Wallace in that 16 straight club, but he’s not finished. Pearson did it 17 straight years, and Petty 18 straight. … Kevin Harvick leads Denny Hamlin by 21 points and Brad Keselowski by 33 in the points standings with one race left before the championship field of four is set…. Martinville, at 0.526 miles, is the shortest and oldest track in the series.

Fast facts: Chase Briscoe leads Austin Cindric by 30 points and Justin Allgaier by 36 with one more race to set the championship field. Justin Haley is 40 points back and Brandon Jones is 44 behind. … Briscoe earned a spot in the round of four with his victory at Kansas. Burton was already eliminated from championship contention. … Winless Ross Chastain is sixth in points, 55 back, but leads all drivers with 25 top-10 runs in 31 races.

Last race: Sheldon Creed got a push from GMS Racing teammate Brett Moffitt for the lead with one lap left in overtime at Texas, gained his series-best fourth win of the season and made he and Moffitt the two drivers that have clinched spots in the championship finale.

Fast facts: Creed is 19 points ahead of Austin Hill and 34 clear of another teammate, Zane Smith. Moffitt is fourth, 41 points back, followed by three-time — and defending — series champion Matt Crafton. … Tyler Ankrum, the fourth GMS driver still in contention, is eighth and 113 points back and would likely need to win to qualify for the round of four.

Fast facts: Hamilton has now won 21 of the last 35 races. … Mercedes continues to dominate the series with Hamilton (8 wins) atop the standings with 256 points and Bottas (2 wins) next with 179. Max Verstappen of Red Bull Racing Honda is third with 162. … Verstappen and Pierre Gasly are the only other race winners, each with one.
