Capitol Heights office furniture dealer sold to New Jersey firm

New Jersey office furniture distributor dancker has acquired Capitol Heights-based U.S. Business Interiors, expanding dancker’s presence in Greater Washington.

The acquisition, effective immediately, includes the takeover of USBI’s headquarters, and all of USBI’s roughly 60 employees will be added to the dancker staff. Dancker will also take over USBI’s showroom on South Charles Street in Baltimore.

While dancker President and CEO Steve Lang did not disclose terms of the deal, he said dancker acquired all of USBI’s assets, which are valued at between $40 and $50 million. He said dancker is valued at around $150 million.

An integration team from dancker is currently on location in Capitol Heights for three months to help with the transition. The company is hiring a senior-level executive to help with growth strategy in the market.
