The Oakland, California-based company said it had net income of $1.50 per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring gains, were $1.45 per share.
The results missed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of eight analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $1.57 per share.
The consumer products maker posted revenue of $1.67 billion in the period, which also fell short of Street forecasts. Six analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $1.71 billion.
Clorox expects full-year earnings in the range of $6.95 to $7.35 per share.
