The bank, based in Westerly, Rhode Island, said it had earnings of 63 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring gains, were 61 cents per share.
The holding company for The Washington Trust Co. posted revenue of $102.1 million in the period. Its revenue net of interest expense was $59.1 million, topping Street forecasts.
