On a per-share basis, the Hampton, New Hampshire-based company said it had profit of 50 cents. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, were 64 cents per share.
The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of 12 analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 58 cents per share.
The fitness center operator posted revenue of $292.2 million in the period, also topping Street forecasts. Ten analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $283.7 million.
