On a per-share basis, the Hampton, New Hampshire-based company said it had net income of 56 cents. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, came to 71 cents per share.
The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of 11 analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 65 cents per share.
The fitness center operator posted revenue of $300.9 million in the period, also topping Street forecasts. Eight analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $292.4 million.
