The Jersey City, New Jersey-based company said it had profit of 95 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, came to $1.31 per share.
The results exceeded Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of five analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 97 cents per share.
The pharmaceutical company posted revenue of $1.61 billion in the period, which also beat Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $1.56 billion.
Organon expects full-year revenue in the range of $6.25 billion to $6.45 billion.
