Southwestern Energy: Q1 Earnings Snapshot

SPRING, Texas (AP) — SPRING, Texas (AP) — Southwestern Energy Co. (SWN) on Thursday reported first-quarter earnings of $1.94 billion.

On a per-share basis, the Spring, Texas-based company said it had net income of $1.76. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring gains, came to 31 cents per share.

The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of nine analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 27 cents per share.

The independent oil and gas company posted revenue of $2.12 billion in the period, also surpassing Street forecasts. Six analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $1.71 billion.
