‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ alum opening Afro-Caribbean-style restaurant in Maryland

Fans of the Bravo TV show “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” might recognize the man behind a new restaurant coming to Baltimore.

Peter Thomas, an Atlanta entrepreneur who earned some fame on the reality show, is opening an outpost of his Miami Beach-based restaurant Bar One in the former Gordon Biersch Brewery Restaurant space at 1000 Lancaster St. in Harbor East. The 9,000-square-foot restaurant is projected to open in the first quarter of this year, according to Harbor East Management Group, the restaurant’s landlord.

The restaurant’s announcement offered a bright spot in an era when restaurant closings seem to be coming every day amid the coronavirus pandemic. The city’s continued shutdown of restaurants for indoor and outdoor dining continues to fell long-established and newer places across the city.
